Kettle Harbour is a graphic novel and work in progress.
When Brendan and Michael move back home to the sleepy town of Kettle Harbour, Nova Scotia, they must confront their shared past with Andrea, Brendan's lonely and directionless cousin who becomes obsessed with their relationship. The trio's journey unfolds in a haunting, highly visual narrative of queer sexuality, love, and memory set against the backdrop of a wildly disruptive summer theatre festival.
This blog-style website will feature ongoing updates from the book.
About the Artist - Katharine (Kyle) Vingoe-Cram
I am a visual artist who has recently turned to writing comics—currently, I am working on the original graphic novel, Kettle Harbour. Previously, I have exhibited paintings, drawings and collaborative works at various art galleries, particularly in Kingston, Ontario, where I lived for five years. I hold a BFA (2010) from NSCAD and an MA (2014) in Art History from Queen’s University. My artistic interests include devising new forms of visual writing, themes of enchantment and grieving, queer kinship, gender identity, and the ethics of storytelling.
